About Me

I’m a recent college grad on a ten-month adventure in Amman, Jordan, where I’m teaching and learning in probably unequal parts. With open eyes and open heart, I’m jumping in with both feet…and I’m excited to see what new waters await me.

For me, being in Jordan is:

A leap of faith,
An intimidating adventure,
And one step forward in whatever crazy journey I’m apparently living.

    Asalamu Alaykom,

Welcome to the club! It will make your life immensely full to the point of bursting but in the end you will have given all and received all—God willing.

Best advice I could give you is to stay centered in the belief that you are doing what you are supposed to be doing. It is a leap of faith because you trust in God. If it was only a leap (minus the faith), it would be a crazy journey. With God? It’s alllll good—even the intimidating parts.

If you want any help making it over to Egypt (either for a visit or for work) just let me know and I’ll do what I can 🙂

Yosra, again, thanks for your encouraging words and generous heart–I’m sure that helps you fit right in with your Egyptian family and neighbors 🙂 If I ever make it to Egypt, I will be sure to remember your offer. Allah ma3ik.

Salaam. 🙂 I just happened on your blog from Yosra’s. I am not ashamed to say I read it all in one sitting. I love your writing style; fresh, candid, and witty. Thanks for letting me share a little in your journey.
